FAQs

Something else on your mind? Our team is one message away.

Ask on WhatsApp
Can I drop off my cylinders at your workshop?

Yes. We are at Unit 3 Hillwood House, Cnr Carlisle Street and Industry Road, Paarden Eiland, Cape Town. We are open Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm, and Friday 8am to 3pm.

Up to what pressure do you fill? Do you fill scuba cylinders?

We fill SCBA and SCUBA cylinders up to 300 bar at our breathing air filling station.

How often should my cylinder be inspected?

Your cylinder must be tested at the intervals required by the applicable South African standards and regulatory requirements. The hydrostatic test date and inspection status should be verified from the cylinder markings and inspection records.

Statutory inspection intervals for cylinders used in South Africa are covered in SANS 10019. For example, SCUBA and SCBA cylinders must be inspected every 2 years.

How do I know when my cylinder was last tested?

The last inspection date is shown on the certificate from your last inspection. If a pressure test was done, it is also stamped on the cylinder in this format: logo, year, month and H.

Does a cylinder have a limited lifespan?

Seamless steel and aluminium cylinders have no limited lifespan. They can stay in use as long as they pass the statutory inspection. Some composite cylinders do have a limited lifespan. This is shown on the cylinder.
